Simple Bindings
Learn how to make a Japanese stab‑bound book and a mini concertina as you fold, tear and stitch your way through simple bookbinding techniques.
Over the session you’ll explore how to prepare your papers, create strong and decorative bindings, and assemble two beautiful handmade books from start to finish.
You’ll leave with a pair of completed pieces, a solid understanding of the tools and materials involved, and the confidence to keep experimenting with bookmaking at home.

I will bring papers made from recycled materials and textile industry waste along with traditional linen thread for you to stitch in to your own

Coptic book binding is one of the oldest forms of bindings. Characterised by rows of beautiful chain stitch across the spine. Coptic bound books also lay completely flat when open, a real bonus if you want to work across the spread or if you’re left handed.
My book crafting kit features a dramatic dark blue cover with handpainted gold flash. All the Materials and Tools that you need to make this beautiful book are included so you can just get busy folding and stitching.

The paper used to make your book is recycled and made from textile industry waste.
Energy - The power to make up your kit comes only from my nimble fingers. They are fuelled by tea and biscuits and the rest of my studio is powered by the sun
Is your packaging plastic free?
All of my products are beautifully wrapped in eco conscious materials such as recycled tissue paper and sent in cardboard boxes. I love to and write a little note to each of my customers on recycled paper and mostly use Royal Mail who deliver on foot :)

My Book Making Craft Kit is carefully packaged to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. I aim to dispatch orders within 1-2 business days with First Class post.
Overseas orders (non UK) are sent with Royal Mail Tracked and Signed service.
